Respiratory Therapy
Therapy Services
Under the direction of your physician, our Respiratory Therapist treats chronic respiratory diseases, such as bronchitis and asthma, and provides therapies to prevent and treat pulmonary complications following an illness, injury or surgery.  The department also conducts a range of diagnostic procedures, including pulmonary function tests EKGs, 24-hour Holter Monitoring, resting and exercise pulse oximetry, peak flow metering and aerosol treatments.
Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy often is prescribed to help patients regain strength and mobility after fractures and other injuries to the musculoskeletal system, joint replacement surgery, nerve damage and stroke, and in the treatment of neck and back pain, arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis and other conditions that affect range of motion.

Our Physical Therapy department treats a wide array of disorders on an inpatient and outpatient basis, as well as in home care.  Our registered Physical Therapist works with your physician to develop an individualized treatment program, which may include active and/or passive exercise, massage, traction, heat or cold treatment, hydrotherapy, ultrasound and electrical stimulation.  These therapies are designed to relieve pain, stiffness and inflammation, retrain joints and muscles, prevent disability and restore the fullest functioning possible.  Our staff of Physical Therapists and              
Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists evaluate and treat all problems that interfere with the activities of daily living. Patients who are disabled by a serious accident, illness or medical condition can benefit from Occupational Therapy, and often resume normal activities and work.  Our Occupational Therapy specialists provide functional capacity assessments and work with your physician to develop an individualized program meeting your needs.

Both inpatient and outpatient therapy may include training in the use of adaptive equipment; designing, fabricating and applying splints; exercises to improve muscle control, strength and coordination; strategies to help you cope with everyday activities, such as       
Speech Therapy

Speech Therapy is used to treat a variety of communication problems.  Our Speech Pathologist evaluates and treats all types of speech, language and swallowing disorders in children and adults.  An initial examination includes the physical assessment of language comprehension and expression.

A treatment plan is then devised in consultation with allied health professionals, family members, teachers and others closely involved with the patient.  This plan includes therapy and exercises designed to improve voice production, articulation, fluency and other speech and language abilities, with the goal of helping the patient to communicate more effectively.
